A few weeks ago, it was suggested to me that I take the month of May, go through the Psalms, pick out different qualities or attributes of God, and journal on them, asking Him to show me that specific quality in Him throughout my day.
So on May 1st, that's just what I did. I asked Him to show me His mercy, His grace, His righteousness, and a few others. But when it came to Him being "just" I was stumped - I saw no examples of God being just throughout that particular day, and I remember going to bed thinking, No wonder people say things like, "a just God would not ever let that happen." Don't get me wrong, I didn't go to bed doubting that He is just at ALL. But I did go to bed wondering what I missed throughout my day. So I decided that God needed a few more days to show me He is just. And then, I received a link about 7 trafficked girls in New York who were freed, and their perpetrators caught. JUSTICE! On Monday my friend asked me to accompany her to court where we watched the man who stole her identity a few years ago, go before the judge and plead guilty. Then yesterday, the 3 girls were freed in Cleveland from their kidnappers, who stole them from their families 10 years ago. And now, the Benghazi trial begins, and I have my doubts if the truth will ever come out, but I am reassured that in time, IT WILL. Because GOOD always prevails. ALWAYS.
2 Thessalonians 1:6 says, "God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you."
Psalm 75:2-3 says, "You say, "I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity. When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm."
Getting to know God is a life-long walk. He let me spend 4 days waiting for justice, and then He allowed me to see example after example of just how JUST He is. I know many people waiting for justice in many different matters. I hope this brings some peace to them, as it has to me...... It's all in HIS timing, not ours!
